Hines Ward Will Retire A Steeler

The Steelers locked up receiver Hines Ward over the weekend. He signed a 4 year deal worth a reported $22 million.

Looks like Ward will get his wish and be able to retire as the greatest Steeler's receiver of all time.

I am happy just because this is one more jersey I have that won't have to go away.

Steelers Offer Leftwich 2 Year Deal

The Steelers are looking to keep Byron Leftwich on the roster as Roethlisberger's backup. They have offered him a 2 year deal at the league minimum salary for those years.

Not much of a deal really but does he have any better offers?

Bring Peyton Back to Pittsburgh

I heard something once, a long time ago...that it is pretty much impossible to beat the same team twice in one year. The year the Steelers made their run to the Superbowl they had to play the Colts during the regular season. The Steelers were blown out! Then when I found out we had to play them in the post season I was thrilled because of this little nugget of info I had heard years before. Well we won...yes, barely, but we won.

Looking at the playoff picture for this year, this Saturday the Colts have to go to San Diego and play the Chargers. We have played both of these teams already this year. We squeaked out a 11-10 win against the Chargers and we lost to the Colts. So who should we want to play in the playoffs???? That's right. Bring on Peyton Manning. He cannot beat us twice, especially at home. I am also hoping to see Tennessee in the AFC Championship since they beat us once this year...then we would just have to beat them and go all the way to the Superbowl! I got this all planned out you see???? So on Saturday we really need to root for Peyton big time. Their defense is not very good and all you have to do is put someone in Peyton's face all day and he freaks out. Game over.
Let me know who you want to see the Steelers play...

Steelers Beat? Baltimore 13-9

I hate games like this. A questionable call should not end a game like that. I am one of the biggest Steelers fans in the world and I wanted my team to win this one more than anything but I don't think that was a touchdown. Yes, his feet were in, yes he had made the catch, but the ball never crossed the plane of the goalline. I would rather this game been tied at that point and taken our chances in overtime than to get a win like this, a win that everyone says we don't deserve, that the Baltimore Ravens were "cheated".

Well, what say you? TD or no TD?

Steelers Defense Makes Romo Look Silly

Today, Deshea Townsend is my hero. With 1:40 left in a tied game, he picked off Tony Romo and ran it 26 yards for the game winning touchdown. I cannot even begin to describe the screaming that came out of my mouth at that moment. I am in my Roethlisberger jersey, waving my Terrible Towel, jumping up and down and screaming. I even had goosebumps!

What a great win for the Steelers. If this doesn't give them confidence finishing up the rest of the season, I don't know what will. The offense struggled for most of the game but we scored when we had to. The defense was awesome, they had 3 sacks on Romo and picked him off 3 times, once for the score.

I cannot wait until next week's game against the Ravens.

Steelers Get Big Win Against Chargers 11-10

Well it was not pretty but the Steelers got the win today. Ben did an awesome job this week, throwing for over 300 yards and without an interception! The Chargers offense looked pretty bad against the Steelers pressure defense but the play of the game was that interception by Troy Polamalu. How he caught that ball is unbelieveable. It looked like he used a finger to kind of flick the ball up and then cradled it in. It was beautiful! If I can find a clip on You Tube I will get it posted this week.

Cincinnati is coming up on Thursday night. Short week against a team that is improving every week. They gave the Eagles fits all day and should have won the game. I can't wait until Thursday night!

Steelers Win With Leftwich 23-6

The Steelers offense looked pitiful again but then Byron Leftwich came into the game. He was whipping the ball around like a man that had sat on the bench too long. The Steelers offense came to life again.

Looks like Ben has an injured shoulder after he dove into the end zone towards the end of the first half. Hopefully it is nothing too serious.

Thanks Leftwich! Good to know we have a great backup quarterback.

How Did the Steelers Blow That Game????

I just cannot believe we lost this game. Our defense totally shut them down and that long bomb Ben threw to Nate Washington just made that d-back look foolish. Why weren't we throwing like that all day long???? Obviously that is what we needed to do since we scored twice on the same type of play (although one was called back for holding).

Ahhhh I am so mad right now. To lead pretty much the whole game and then blow it like that in the last few minutes just kills me.

With the Redskins ahead next Monday night, I don't have too good of a feeling about it since the NFC teams seem to have our number. I gotta peel off this jersey, go have a couple of beers and hope I pass out.

Steelers Win in Overtime!

Oh it wasn't pretty but a win is a win!

Gotta go pass out now.

Pittsburgh vs Baltimore In Overtime

Ok, I am up way past my bedtime...the Steelers had better pull this off or I will have to call in sick tomorrow. I talked so much smack at work today saying the Ravens haven't played anybody yet and they were gonna get whooped tonight.

Remind me not to do that again.

Ok, must go focus now.

Ok, the Vols Suck...

That was the worst game ever! I left at halftime to go wash my car.

Well better luck tomorrow as my Steelers go against the hot Eagles. I feel pretty good about this game even though everyone is picking the Eagles. Go Steelers!
